Please, join us for a talk about the latest research in sports-related concussions, how to prevent them, and how to care for them.

The talk will be hosted by Elizabeth M Pieroth, Psy.D., ABPP-CN is a Board Certified Clinical Neuropsychologist practicing out of the Midwest Center for Concussion Care (MWCCC) in Oak Brook. The MWCCC was founded in 2007 due to the lack of integrative care available to individuals who have suffered a cerebral concussion or mild traumatic brain injury. She received her Bachelors of Science in Psychology from the University of Illinois- Champaign and obtained a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology in 1997. She then completed a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in the Division of Neuropsychology at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI. Dr. Pieroth is a Diplomate with the American Board of Professional Psychology- Clinical Neuropsychology. She has extensive experience in the evaluation of various neurological and psychiatric disorders, particularly traumatic brain injury and sports-related concussion. She has been involved in the assessment of players in the National Hockey League since 1997 and is the Head Injury/Concussion consultant to the Chicago Bears, Chicago Blackhawks and Northwestern University. Dr. Pieroth has written on neuropsychological assessment and rehabilitation psychology. She and her husband have two small boys who are involved in various sports, particularly hockey.
